Questions
- Bee Caves Pediatrics, P.A.
Q: If my child
needs to be admitted to a hospital which one do you use?
A: Children’s Hospital of Austin (formerly Brackenridge)
Q: Do you have a
separate sick and well waiting area?
A: We have tried this in the past and so many of our families found it
more difficult to monitor several children all going in different
directions that we have dispensed with it and relay upon our parents to
maintain separation of their ill children.
Q: Will the
doctors call out antibiotics for my child?
A: We prefer to see our patients to make a diagnosis and determine the
appropriate treatment course. We feel that this is essential to maintain
the highest standard of care the children in our practice deserve.
Q: If I have a
preference for a certain practitioner can I see them exclusively?
A: If you call well enough in advance for your well care appointments this
should not be a problem. On a daily basis for sick call appointments it
depends on the doctor’s availability and whether they have any openings
in their schedule. We will try to accommodate you as much as possible,
however, some occasions may arise that you may have to see another
practitioner.
Q: If we need a specialist is
that a problem?
A: Should you feel you need a referral, your primary care physician is
required to evaluate the patient’s condition first. If the referral is
necessary Bee Caves Pediatrics, P.A. has a referral nurse who will process
the paperwork. Certain types of insurance do not require paper referrals
or permission from your primary care physician, you simply need to choose
a participating provider from your insurance list.
